What It Means To Be A Member of The Church At Parker

At The Church At Parker we recognize the need for a formal membership.

We ask you to commit to members for four reasons:

  • A Biblical Reason: Christ is committed to the Church.

  • Ephesians 5:25 “…Christ loved the Church, and He gave His life for it.”

  • A Cultural Reason: It is an antidote to our society.

  • We live in an age where few want to be committed to anything for extended periods of time. This attitude has infected the Church and produced a generation of people with high expectations of the Church, but low commitment to the Church. Membership swims against the current of America’s “consumer religion.” It is an unselfish decision to commit to the life and health of a local church.

  • A Practical Reason: It defines who can be counted on Every team must have a roster.

  • Every school must have an enrollment. Every business has a payroll. Every army an enlistment. Every winning team has it’s players, filling needed positions. Membership identifies our family & builds us a committed team.

  • A Personal Reason: It produces Healthy Spiritual Formation.

What Is Expected of Me As A Member of The Church At Parker?

At The Church At Parker we never ask our members to do more than the Bible clearly teaches. We expect our members to do what the Bible expects every Christian to do.  These responsibilities are spelled out in the Membership Covenant.

Verse of The Day

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death.” (Romans 8:1-2)
